HUNTER VALLEY AND SCONE

DAY 1: THE HUNTER VALLEY

Following breakfast we visit the splendid Hunter Valley Gardens - nestled at the foothills of the Brokenback Ranges, in the heart of the Hunter vineyards. We find over 25 hectares of international display gardens that will amaze us with sensational sights, colours, fragrances and adventures. Next we make our way to a local winery before stopping at the village of Morpeth. The entire township is a time capsule - right down to the street kerbs and guttering of sandstone block.

DAY 2: SCONE

This morning we head north to Belltrees Country House where we have arranged a tour and lunch. The tour will include the historic buildings located on the property including the woolshed, post office, chapel, old stables and, of course, the magnificent homestead. Returning to Scone this afternoon we stop to view Lake Glenbawn, a magnificent waterway that stretches back from the dam wall to forested foothills. We now have some time in the Scone Township at leisure.

DAY 3: LOCAL EXPLORING

We have an early start to the day for our full day of touring in the Upper Hunter Valley. We will be joined by a local guide for the day. Our sightseeing takes us to Darley Stud - a magnificent operation with animals and scenery that will be remembered. Darley (Woodlands) is owned by Sheik Mohammed from Dubai - he is the largest breeder of thoroughbreds in the world. We'll stop for lunch in Denman before continuing our sightseeing which will include some local enterprises.
