DAY 1: BRISBANE & LONE PINE SANCTUARY
This morning we are booked with Mirimar Cruises for a morning tea cruise upstream on the Brisbane River to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is the world's first and largest koala sanctuary. We will enjoy the platypus show, the birds of prey and the sheep dog demonstration followed by our BBQ lunch. Back in Brisbane we have some time to take a wander around the Southbank precinct topping off our day.DAY 2: HISTORIC HOMES OF BRISBANE
Leaving the hotel with a local guide on board we head to the inner suburb of Milton to view Milton House and then back into the city for a short walk to see Old Government House. Our afternoon visit is to the XXXX Brewery & Alehouse. We take a journey through one of Brisbane's most recognisable products. We end the tour with a tasting before travelling to the Gold Coast.DAY 3: "THE COAST"
Our breakfast this morning is a little unusual as we head to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to enjoy Breakfast with the Birds. The sanctuary is home to over 1400 birds, mammals and reptiles. We then have some time to experience the sanctuary at leisure. Our next visit today is Skypoint, on of the world's tallest residential buildings. We'll take one of the fastest elevators in the world to the 77th floor and take in the brilliant views from the observation deck.DAY 4: AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK SPECTACULAR
This morning we join Wyndham Cruises for a morning tea cruise. Departing from the heart of Surfers Paradise, we cruise along the canal system and the Broadwater to view some magnificent homes and some of the world's most beautiful high rise apartments on the ever changing Surfers Paradise skyline. After disembarking we have the remainder of the day free for personal shopping. Tonight we head out for an entertaining Dinner Show. There is no show on earth like the Australian Outback Spectacular "Salute to the Light Horse".DAY 5: TWEED HEADS AND ALSTONVILLE
Today we travel to Alstonville where we visit Summerland House Farm. Summerland House Farm is situated on 69 hectares of fertile farmland and is a working macadamia and avocado farm allowing people with disabilities to work and live independently. We enjoy lunch and time to wander through the facilities. This afternoon we join Tweed Eco Cruises for a cruise along the Tweed River and the Terranora Broadwater. Learn more about the cedar getters, aboriginal tribes, sugar cane industry, flora and fauna of the Tweed Valley while enjoying afternoon tea.DAY 6: LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK
We farewell the coast and make our way up Tamborine Mountain, which sits on the edge of the escarpment behind the Gold Coast. We drive through to Canungra where we stop at the historic Killowen Homestead for a wine tasting and lunch. This afternoon we continue up into the Lamington National Park. World Heritage status was bestowed on Lamington in 1994 in recognition of its high biodiversity. On arrival we settle into our accommodation and enjoy the O'Reilly's hospitality and the beauty of the area.DAY 7: O'REILLY'S RETREAT
We spend the morning enjoying the beautiful scenery that surrounds O'Reilly's. There are a number of short nature walks, including the famous Tree Top Walk, which are accessible to all. Lunch will be provided before our afternoon 4WD tour when we visit Moran's Falls, the Wishing Tree and Pats Bluff. What an exhilarating day in the mountains.
