6 Day Tour

Tour Features & Highlights

DAY 1: ARRIVE ADELAIDE

On arrival our local touring coach will be there to meet us and transfer us through to our preferred Adelaide accommodation. With plenty of free time for your hotel check-in, you might like to explore Adelaide’s Riverbank and entertainment precincts.

DAY 2: ADELAIDE HILLS

Today we make our way to the Adelaide Hills, just 20 minutes from the city centre but it feels like a world away. Our first tasting is at Hahndorf Hill Winery. Our lunch venue is the stunning larger winery of The Lane. We finish our day with a visit to the iconic home of Penfolds Grange, Magill; Contemporary food and an extensive collection of wines, exemplary service and stunning views completes one of Australia’s finest food and wine experiences.

DAY 3: MCLAREN VALE

A short 45 min drive south from Adelaide is an absolutely superb wine region of McLaren Vale. We say good morning to Wirra Wirra where the imposing ironstone buildings offer a warm welcome. Our next visit is not to be missed at the new d’Arenberg Cube - a five storey multi-function building set amongst the vines. Our lunch has been arranged at Red Poles; tap into your creative side and feast your eyes on the mix of art on every wall. After lunch we visit Lloyd Brothers, where we have time for a tasting whilst admiring the grounds. After a day of indulgent experiences why not stop by one of Adelaide’s sophisticated roof-top bars or lane way eateries.

DAY 4: BAROSSA VALLEY

Today we head to another wine region of South Australia the Barossa Valley. Early German and English settlers began planting grapes here and now, more than 150 vintage years later, the wines are world renowned. The area is not only famous for their wines but also as a centre for gourmet food and produce. Our first stop is at Jacobs Creek. It’s a story of people, passion and place. The land is perfect for grape growing and the word spread quickly, establishing an area where premium red grapes thrive. James Halliday has said ‘Seppeltsfield is the most historic winery and greatest showpiece of the Barossa Valley’, so with this recommendation it is a venue we cannot miss. The sense of grandeur begins as we drive up the avenue toward the property, lined with 2 000 Date Palms. Along with our guide, we embark on a Village Discovery tour visiting the Jam Factory Craft + Design studios, Vasse Virgin skin care sampling and finishing the tour with a cellar door wine tasting. We dine in the onsite restaurant for a delicious lunch of Barossa fare. We end our day on a sweet note. The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company invites us in to indulge before returning to our hotel with the evening at leisure.

DAY 5: MARKETS, FOOD, WINE & CHATEAU

We start the day visiting the Barossa Farmers Market for some free time to look through the various stalls. Leaving here we visit the famous Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop. It’s a real “foodie friendly” place with a large range of samples on display for tastings. Our lunch venue is at the baroc style Chateau Barossa. We enjoy a guided tour of the gallery’s antique collections & paintings followed by a delicious lunch. Last visit in the area is not food or wine but it is one not to be missed - the Whispering Wall which is locally known as the “acoustic miracle”. Tonight we are treated to a farewell dinner at the National Wine Centre, served with the best produce from across South Australia.

DAY 6: ADELAIDE TO HOME
