WOLLONGONG & BATEMANS BAY

5 Day Tour

Tour Features & Highlights

DAY 1: WOLLONGONG

This morning we head to Port Kembla and Australia's Industry World visitor's centre where we will be provided with a unique 'close-up' and personal view of the major industries located around this deepwater port. We have arranged a tour of the Steel Works here. This afternoon we head to the Nan Tien Temple for our guided tour. Nan Tien Temple, literally means 'paradise of the south' in English, it's the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere.

DAY 2: MINNAMURRA

Today we travel to the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre. We can find lots of great information and view the Aboriginal artefacts on display in the Centre. Then it's time to wander the network of elevated walkways through the rare remnant rainforest that once reached throughout the Illawarra. Feel your senses awakening as you listen to the birds, feel the spray of the waterfalls and spot rainforest residents. It will be a lovely day.

DAY 3: WOLLONGONG TO BATEMANS BAY

We travel south to Huskisson for our 2 hour Dolphin Watch Cruise. The cruise operates in the pristine waters of Jervis Bay Marine Park. Dolphin Watch is Eco accredited and is the South Coast's most awarded and leading Dolphin and Whale Watching Company. Our vessel "The Spirit of Jervis Bay" has 5 viewing decks and offers all weather comfort along with a bow camera, so if our Dolphins choose to bow ride, everyone can see them throughout the vessel. This afternoon we drive to Ulladulla and onto Batemans Bay.

DAY 4: MOGO

Eureka! Our morning touring takes us to Mogo where we first visit the Gold Rush Colony, a faithfully re-created 1850's Gold Rush village with buildings and exhibits collected from the New South Wales original South Coast goldfields. Then it's off to visit the Mogo Zoo. Here there are lions, giraffes, tigers, jaguars, snow leopards, to mention just some of the animals we will meet today. We have plenty of time to enjoy the zoo and to hear the Keeper's talk as well as see a feeding session.

DAY 5: BATEMANS BAY

Our first stop of the day is at the local Information Centre where we meet our local guide who will introduce us to the town. After our tour we join the 'MV Merinda' for our luncheon cruise. We will enjoy a scenic tour along the magnificent Clyde River to the town of Nelligen. Re-boarding the vessel we return to Batemans Bay, motoring under the only single span lift bridge still operating in NSW. We now have time at leisure to enjoy the township.
