Learn about the districts pioneers buried at Alberton Cemetery including Agnes Gellion, the tragic story of the Howden family and the first recorded burial of a European settler, Robert McClure who died in March 1842.

Situated between Yarram and Port Albert the historic Alberton Cemetery is not only one of the oldest in Victoria, but it is a rare example of a cemetery sited on the banks of a river. The cemetery is home to around 1,300 interred residents and this walking tour is a great way to come and learn more about the historic resting place and some of the areas first residents.
