The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Natural History Museum is home to the largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils in the world!

Many are new to science, like the fearsome predator Australovenator wintonensis (Banjo) and the long-necked sauropod Savannasaurus elliottorum (Wade), and are on display nowhere else.

The Australian Age of Dinosaurs is located on top of a mesa 24km south-east of Winton, Queensland called "The Jump-Up". The Museum is split between three areas the Fossil Preparation Laboratory, Collection Room housed in the Reception Centre and its newest attraction, Dinosaur Canyon. Visitors will take a journey through Australia's unique past and learn about the fascinating age of dinosaurs via guided tours.

The Museum is open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Sundays from October to March.

Late afternoon groups can book to follow their tour with a typical Aussie BBQ, watching the sun go down on a glorious view before enjoying Australian Age of Dinosaurs hospitality.

If you find yourself overtaken by dinosaur fever, visit our website to book for the annual dinosaur digs or to learn how to prepare fossils in the Laboratory. The Museum has an "open door" science policy and welcomes members of the public who are keen to get involved. A warning though, it is addictive and you will want to return year after year!

Group bookings and Prep-A-Dino bookings can be sent via the Museum's website australianageofdinosaurs.com or by email bookings@aaod.com.au
