A tour to the “Top End” between May and August is a great way to escape a southern winter! Darwin is one of the fastest growing cities in Australia located between Beagle Gulf and Port Darwin . To the east is the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park which covers almost 20,000 square kilometres, contains 275 species of birds, 75 species of reptiles, 25 species of frogs and an estimated 10,000 species of insects. To complete the “loop,” its on to Katherine, well known for the beautiful gorge & Litchfield National Park.

From Fremantle to Busselton and south to “Lands End”, from the Karri Forests around Pemberton to Albany on the south coast – and from Wave Rock to the Kalgoorlie/Boulder Goldfields. The region is home to some of the most unusual spring wild flowers to be found anywhere on earth. There are world class wineries, ancient forests and spectacular coastal views over both the Indian and Southern Oceans.

THE SOUTH WEST REGION OF WA

Norfolk Island lies about 1700kms east of Sydney and is only 5 kms by 8 kms in size. Discovered by Captain Cook it was twice settled as a Convict Settlement and twice abandoned. The original buildings of these settlements are beautifully restored and on display today. Its third and permanent settlement came with the relocation of the descendants of the famous mutineers of the Bounty. Today the families of these descendants are prominent. The history, the scenery and the hospitality will make this a memorable holiday.

It began as an overland telegraph station and is now a modern community on the Sturt Highway – the north/south corridor connecting Darwin with Adelaide. Canberra is Australia’s National Capital - and what a city it is! Parliament House of course is the reason for Canberra’s existence and is the focal point of the Parliamentary Triangle. At the Australian War Memorial, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier commemorates all Australians who gave their lives for their country and along Embassy Row there are more than 80 diplomatic missions. And the best place to get an overall view is at the Telecom Tower, some 195 metres above the summit of Black Mountain.

CANBERRA

The Kimberley Region straddles the top end of Western Australia to the north west of Broome. Our tour begins in Darwin before a visit to Katherine and then onto Kununurra which is the gateway to the East Kimberley. The million acre cattle station, El Questro, the Argyle Diamond Mine and the ancient Geikie Gorge are all on our itinerary. Three nights in Broome with a visit to Pearl Luggers and a tour of the Willie Creek Pearl Farm complete our 12 day adventure.

Launceston, the Tamar Valley, the East Coast and Hobart provide the framework for a tour that oozes with history, green and clean produce and stunning scenery.

This tour features the Sunshine & the Fraser Coasts. Multi night stays are spent at Hervey Bay, known as the “whale watching capital of the world" and Fraser Island. Hervey Bay is the gateway to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island - the largest sand island in the world. The Island is one of Australia’s natural treasures alongside Uluru, Kakadu and the Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Island is the only place in the world where tall rainforests are found growing on sand dunes at elevations of over 200 metres.
