The Fleurieu Peninsula to the south of Adelaide has some spectacular scenery. It was named by French explorer Nicholas Baudin in 1802 after Napoleon's navy Minister. The "unofficial" capital of the Fleurieu Peninsula is Victor Harbor, a seaside resort overlooking Encounter Bay.
