It is at the heart of our continent and has been of great interest to visitors since the first European explorers, Charles Sturt and John McDouall Stuart. Our tour takes us through Port Augusta to Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock/Uluru, Kings Canyon, Alice Springs and many other outback centres. To most people the highlight will be “the Rock”. Rising 348 meters from the red desert sands and with a girth of 9.4ks, Ayers Rock is the world’s largest monolith (single stone). Daily, thousands of visitors from all over the world are drawn to experience its mystical impact, to see the changing colours from red to orange to lilac and to learn about its role in the Tjukurpa (the Creation stories and Laws) of the ancient Aboriginal culture.
